eBike Service & Repair — Cardiff Workshop

All4eBikes is a dedicated electric bike repair workshop based in Roath, Cardiff. We specialise in Bafang mid-drive systems, hub motor conversions and lithium battery repairs — the kind of technical work that general bike shops rarely have the knowledge or equipment to handle.

Whether your motor has cut out, your battery is no longer holding charge or your display has lost communication with the controller, bring your bike in and we'll diagnose the fault and give you a clear assessment before any work begins.

What We Repair

Our workshop handles the full range of eBike faults across all major system types:

Bafang Mid-Drive Motors — BBS01, BBS02B and BBSHD fault diagnosis, nylon gear replacement, hall sensor replacement, stator and rotor replacement, controller swaps, full motor service and rebuild.

Hub Motor Systems — hall sensor replacement, motor rewiring, rim replacement and wheel rebuilds for rear hub motor conversion kits.

Battery Repairs — lithium battery diagnostic service, BMS replacement, cell-level assessment for downtube, triangle and custom battery packs across 36V, 48V, 52V and 72V systems.

Controllers & Wiring — controller replacement and testing, wiring harness repairs, connector replacement and system fault tracing across hub motor and mid-drive setups.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the workshop located?+

We are based at 2 Beresford Road Lane, Roath, Cardiff CF24 1QU. Walk-ins are welcome. If you want to check availability before travelling, message us on WhatsApp and we'll confirm.

Can you repair any brand of eBike or only Bafang?+

We specialise in Bafang mid-drive systems (BBS01, BBS02B, BBSHD) and hub motor conversion kits, but we also carry out general eBike diagnostics and repairs across a wide range of electric bike systems. If you're unsure whether we can help with your specific bike, message us first with a description of the fault.

Do you offer battery diagnostics?+

Yes. We offer a dedicated eBike battery diagnostic service to assess the health of your lithium pack, identify BMS faults and determine whether a repair or replacement is the most cost-effective option. This covers downtube, triangle and custom battery configurations across all common voltages.

My motor is making a grinding noise — what could it be?+

On Bafang mid-drive motors, grinding noises are most commonly caused by a worn nylon gear or a failing clutch — both of which are serviceable parts we stock and replace in the workshop. On hub motors, similar symptoms can indicate a hall sensor fault or internal bearing wear. Bring the bike in and we'll diagnose it before recommending a repair.

Is it worth repairing my eBike or should I upgrade?+

It depends on the fault and the age of the system. In many cases a single component replacement — a controller, nylon gear, BMS or hall sensor — restores full performance at a fraction of the cost of a new kit. We'll give you an honest assessment when you bring the bike in, and if an upgrade makes more sense we can advise on compatible conversion kits and batteries.
