E-Bike Conversion Kit 3000W Purple — High-Power Off-Road MTB Conversion
E-Bike Conversion Kit 3000W Purple is not an average conversion kit — this is a full power overhaul. The 3000W Purple E-Bike Conversion Kit takes any standard mountain bicycle and transforms it into a high-torque, off-road powerhouse. Built around a brushless rear hub motor, a Smart Sine Wave controller, and a colour UKC1+ display, every component in this kit is chosen for performance, durability, and a build quality that holds up on real terrain.
What makes the 3000W kit different?
Most conversion kits on the market cap out at 250W–1000W for road use. This kit is built for a completely different purpose: maximum off-road performance. At 3000W continuous, the brushless MTX hub motor delivers the kind of torque that makes steep hill climbs, loose terrain, and heavy loads feel effortless. The Smart Sine Wave controller — rated at 48V–72V and 45A — ensures that power delivery is smooth and controlled rather than jerky, which makes a significant difference both in ride feel and motor longevity.
The purple anodised MTX wheel rims are not just for aesthetics — the double-wall alloy construction handles the stresses of high-power riding better than standard single-wall rims, and they look outstanding in the process.

Why the Smart Sine Wave controller matters
Not all controllers are equal. Many budget kits use a square wave controller, which produces a rougher, noisier power delivery and generates more heat. The Smart Sine Wave controller included in this kit produces a smoother sinusoidal current wave, which means:
- Quieter motor operation — far less electrical noise at all speeds
- Smoother power delivery, especially from a standing start
- Lower motor temperature under sustained load
- Better efficiency at mid-range speeds, extending battery range
- Compatibility with both 48V and 72V battery systems for future flexibility
Paired with the 3000W brushless hub motor, this controller is one of the key reasons this kit punches well above its price point.
Choosing the right battery for this kit
This kit does not include a battery — and for good reason. Battery choice depends on your intended range, voltage preference, and frame compatibility. This kit is designed to run on 48V or 72V lithium battery packs. For maximum performance and top speed at 3000W, a 72V pack is strongly recommended.
All4eBikes stocks a full range of compatible batteries, including downtube and triangle-style packs in multiple capacities:
Who is this kit for?
This kit is built for riders who want maximum performance from a hub-drive conversion and are building exclusively for off-road use. It is not a beginners’ road commuter kit — it is a serious off-road build platform.
- Mountain bikers looking to electrify an existing MTB for trail and enduro riding
- Off-road enthusiasts who want high torque for steep climbs and rough terrain
- DIY builders upgrading from a lower-powered kit and wanting a complete component refresh
- Riders who want the look and finish of a purple anodised build — not just performance
- Workshop builders assembling custom off-road e-bikes for clients
If you are looking for a road-legal kit for commuting, explore our 250W conversion kits or our range of Bafang BBS02 mid-drive kits — both are EAPC-compliant for UK road use.
Installation guide and support
Hub motor conversion kits are among the most accessible DIY e-bike builds — the rear wheel replaces your existing rear wheel, the controller mounts to the frame, and the display and throttle go on the handlebars. The two sets of torque arms are a critical safety step for a 3000W build: they prevent the axle from rotating in the dropout under the motor’s high torque output, and must be fitted before riding.

Frequently asked questions
Does this kit include a battery?
No — the battery is sold separately, allowing you to choose the voltage and capacity that best suits your build. This kit supports 48V–72V systems. For maximum performance, we recommend a 72V lithium pack. Browse our compatible batteries here.
What dropout width does the motor require?
The 3000W MTX hub motor requires a 150mm rear dropout (also called a 150mm axle spacing). This is standard on most mountain bike frames, but it is important to measure your dropout width before ordering. Standard road bikes typically have 130mm dropouts, which are not compatible.
Why do I need torque arms with this kit?
At 3000W, the motor generates substantial rotational torque at the axle. Without torque arms, this force can cause the axle to spin inside the dropout, which damages the frame and is a serious safety hazard. Both included torque arm sets must be fitted before the first ride.
Can I use this kit on a 26-inch wheel bike instead of 27.5-inch?
This specific kit comes with 27.5″ MTX wheels. If you need a different wheel size, get in touch with our team via the contact page and we can advise on available options.
