Bafang genuinely makes both hub motors and mid-drive motors, and they’re entirely different product families. A hub motor’s controller is always a separate box, wired between the battery and the motor, and it’s this box that this listing is for. A BBS01, BBS02 or BBSHD mid-drive has its controller sealed inside the motor at the bottom bracket — there’s no separate controller box to replace on that kind of build, so this part simply won’t apply.
This is a JYTcon-manufactured controller, not a Bafang OEM part — it’s built to work with 48V geared and direct-drive hub motors using standard Hall-sensor wiring, the same connector family (round waterproof, colour-coded by pin count) used across most Chinese OEM hub kits including Bafang’s own hub motors. Controller and motor pairings from different manufacturers usually work when the connector and wiring standard match, but it’s worth checking your existing motor’s plug against this unit’s before ordering rather than assuming automatic compatibility.
Suits 48V hub motor builds such as our rear hub motor 48V–72V 3000W kit and similar hub conversions. Once it’s mounted on the frame, protect it with our controller bag. For a Bafang mid-drive install, you don’t need this controller at all — see our Bafang mid-drive kits instead.
