Unlike a Bafang mid-drive, where the electronics live sealed inside the motor at the bottom bracket, a hub motor conversion runs its controller as a separate box wired between the battery and the motor. That box has to sit somewhere — usually strapped to the down tube, seat tube or a rear rack — and it needs protecting from rain, road spray and the frame rubbing against the casing on rough ground. This pouch does that job: a zippered polyester shell with two webbing straps and a grommet for the cable to exit cleanly, sized to fit the small-to-mid controller boxes used across the 250W to 2000W range.
We are not going to claim an IP rating this bag does not have. The polyester shell sheds rain and road spray reasonably well, but there is no sealed zip or taped seam, so in genuinely heavy or prolonged wet riding, treat it as splash protection rather than a fully sealed enclosure. If your build sees regular hard weather, mount the controller somewhere it also gets some shelter from the frame or a mudguard, and this bag as the first line of defence rather than the only one.
This fits the standalone controllers used on hub motor builds — for example the 48V–72V 45A 2000W controller, the 48V–52V 35A 1500W controller, or the sine wave DC controller 60A 3000W at the higher-power end.
